Dr. Khatua is a board certified Family Medicine Physician. He trained at Hinsdale Hospital Family Medicine Residency where he served as Chief Resident from 2009 to 2010. From 2010 to 2016, Dr. Khatua was a full time family medicine physician at Edward Medical Group in Plainfield, IL. In addition to his practice, he served in various leadership roles at EEH including: Medical Director, Clinical Integration & Population Health at Edward Hospital, Associate Medical Director of Edward Medical Group and Medical Director of Naperville Health Care Associates. In these roles, he was able to work with other healthcare leaders to maximize clinical outcomes and financial returns.
In July of 2016, Dr. Khatua was promoted to Vice President, Physician Network & Population Health at Edward-Elmhurst Health which eventually transitioned to Vice President, Chief Medical Officer at Edward Hospital in January, 2017. Dr. Khatua was promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Physician Executive for Edward Elmhurst Health in 2019. In addition to his role of Chief Physician Executive, he will also be leading the Physician and Ambulatory Network for Edward Elmhurst Health starting October 1st, 2019. He completed his MPH from Loma Linda University in 2012 his MBA-HCM from Loyola University Chicago in 2015 and his MD from the Medical University of Silesia.
He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians and member of the American Association for Physician Leadership. In 2017, he was awarded the President’s Award from the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians for promoting excellence in the health and well-being of the people of Illinois.
Dr. Khatua is dedicated to championing clinical excellence and creating an innovative delivery model across the continuum of care. He has had the privilege of working with multiple stakeholders at EEH to be a part of various system initiatives.
